JR. STRUCTURAL ENGINEER
Sohar, Sultanate of Oman
The Precast Structural Design Engineer is responsible for the structural analysis, design, and detailing of precast concrete elements for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects. With approximately five years of professional experience, the role involves independently delivering design solutions while coordinating closely with production, drafting, and site teams to ensure constructability, safety, and compliance with applicable codes and standards. The role also includes reviewing shop drawings, responding to technical queries, and supporting projects from concept through fabrication and site erection.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing structural analysis and design of precast concrete elements using relevant design codes and software
- Preparing and reviewing design calculations, reports, and technical submissions
- Coordinating with architectural, MEP, and construction teams to resolve design and interface issues
- Ensuring designs are practical for manufacturing, transportation, and erection
- Assisting with value engineering, design optimization, and technical problem-solving
- Providing technical support during production and on-site erection as required
Qualifications & Competencies
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 1–2 years of experience in precast design
- Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical drawings and documents
- Effective communication and coordination skills
- Strong understanding of International Building Codes.
- Proficiency in STAAD and other structural design & analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAFE, SAP)
- Ability to prepare structural calculations, shop drawings review, and design reports
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work within project deadlines
